What is holding you back from getting married in your dream location?

Happy Summertime season my friends! It has been a busy time over here, shooting, editing and creating. I am so blessed to be able to travel to some of the most gorgeous places in the country for my job. Last week I was taking photos in the Grand Tetons, a breathtaking view for engagements, elopements and weddings. My heart was overwhelmed, wishing for the most perfect backdrop for every love story.

My question today is: what is holding you back from getting married in your dream location? I want to ask this because maybe deep in your heart you are grappling with budget, or other people’s expectations. This often comes up during wedding planning.

When you become overwhelmed with lists and expectations and budget, I want to encourage you to take a step back and remember that these moments are once in a lifetime. One engagement shoot, and one wedding. Despite roadblocks, there is always a path to the location of your dreams.

First, stop and breathe.

Next, do some research. Compile a document with locations that feel right for your event. (Even if it an aesthetically pleasing photograph from Bali, put it on the list)!

After this, sit down with your other half and ask about their dream location.

Talk to your wedding photographer (We know a lot and can find places that are similar to your dream board).

Next, narrow it down to 3 places that align most with what you and your person are hoping will be the backdrop for the start of your forever.

In all honesty, I know this isn’t an easy question, especially when there are so many choices and people in your ear during the planning process. This is a call to put your feet back on the ground and remember who should be choosing the place where these moments will live forever. YOU.
